The entire interview

Oliver Conran is 12 years older than his non-identical twin brothers Sam and Ewan. Sam was born with compound disabilities: he suffers from autism as well as down syndrome. His physical and mental disabilities weigh heavily on every member of his family. Ewan learned to cope with the challenge early on, and it made him precocious. As a teenager, he has plans to become a scientist and prepares himself to be a life-long caretaker. Sam’s conditions also brought about a reversal of the usual parent-children situation. Oliver goes on to talk about the help provided by the British healthcare system (NHS), its strengths and its weaknesses, and draws comparison with the situation in Hong Kong.
